We Share Forward is a mission-driven foundation supporting early-stage social entrepreneurs tackling critical local challenges aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Operating through sister foundations in the Netherlands and Switzerland, they use a distinctive philanthropic revolving funding model alongside venture philanthropy and impact investments. In this role, you’ll work closely with senior leadership in Switzerland to evaluate, structure, and execute philanthropic impact investments across emerging markets. Does this sound aligned with your profile?
Responsibilities
• Support the screening of inbound investment opportunities to ensure alignment with the Foundation’s mission and risk profile
• Act as the primary point of contact for social entrepreneurs during the initial evaluation phases
• Contribute to market mapping and strategic research in your region (LATAM or SEA) to identify high-potential impact startups
• Analyze inbound opportunities (pitch decks, business plans, financial histories) to assess mission alignment, impact potential, and commercial viability
• Review proposed investment terms (term sheets), cap tables, and valuation expectations against local market standards
• Assess and recommend the best-fit philanthropic investment instrument (e.g., equity, convertible debt, recoverable grants, revenue-share models)
• Conduct commercial, operational, financial, and impact due diligence on prospective early-stage social enterprises
• Build and audit financial models; perform valuation work and risk/scenario analysis
• Lead KYC and compliance checks on potential investees
• Prepare investment memoranda, analytical materials, and clear recommendations for the Investment Committee and Board
• Support the Managing Director (Switzerland) in structuring investment instruments
• Draft and review term sheets based on initial deal analysis
• Coordinate contracting and legal execution with founders and co-investors to close deals efficiently
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Approximately 5 years of experience in investment analysis, venture capital, private equity, impact investing, transaction advisory, or corporate finance
• Permanently based in Latin America (LATAM) or South East Asia (SEA)
• Strong financial modeling skills and high attention to detail
• Proven experience in due diligence and term-sheet analysis (including cap tables and valuations) for early-stage or growth-stage companies
• Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate across time zones with senior leadership in Switzerland
• Genuine interest in social entrepreneurship, venture philanthropy, and systemic economic change
• Preferred: familiarity with impact measurement and management (e.g., theory of change) or strong willingness to learn quickly
• Advanced Conversational English
